During EnergYear ConoSur, held in Buenos Aires this year, the specialized media Energía Estratégica interviewed Antonio Robredo, Commercial Director of Axial Structural Solutions during the event.
The interview focused especially on analyzing the state of the photovoltaic energy market in Mexico and all of Latin America, as well as talking about the upcoming changes and technological advances in fixed structures and solar trackers.
“We have more than 800 megawatts in projects in Latin America,” Robredo explained, referring to the extensive experience with Axial Structural Solutions in the photovoltaic energy market in Latin American countries, where we lead projects in countries such as Mexico, Salvador, Honduras, Chile, Bolivia, Colombia and the Dominican Republic.
In addition to the current situation in Mexico especially, Robredo wanted to emphasize the role of the PPA in solar energy (Power Purchase Agreement), he highlighted that thanks to them “it is possible to sell to the end user, unlike the what happens with other, much more central energies, such as nuclear energy, solar energy allows us to reach different consumers at different points” Robredo said.
Technological changes in the solar area
“The fixed structure is in process of improvement to optimize the product, but the solar tracker is in continuous improvement because it is a very recent product in the market” Robredo explained to Gastón Fenés, a journalist specialized in this area, after his question about the technological changes in the sector.
For Antonio Robredo, the solar tracker technology will continue to advance to get a solar plant to have a longer life through improvements in batteries, engines and materials. Something that Axial Structural Solutions is carrying out thanks to the launch of the Axial Tracker with Blocking System.
Before finalizing the interview, Robredo also wanted to recognize that in order to achieve advances and innovations like this one, Axial Structural Soutions is heavily committed to the Engineering and R&D departments, which are the ones that work the most for continuous improvement and to launch the market innovative products that positively impact the quality of a solar plant.
